Bishop Kandy Akers is an accomplished pastor, educator, organizational leader, and international missions advocate whose ministry has combined spiritual leadership with education, economic empowerment, strategic planning, and global outreach.

She currently serves as Senior Pastor of Living Water Apostolic Church in Marion, Indiana, continuing a rich Apostolic heritage as a fourth-generation Pentecostal Assemblies of the World pastor. Her ministry experience began at an early age, and throughout her years of service she has held numerous leadership positions at the local, state, national, and international levels.

Bishop Akers has an extensive history with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World International Missions Department. She joined the PAW missions department in 1998 and became a member of the PAWIMD Board of Directors in 2008. She later served as Chairman and President of the International Missions Department from 2018 through 2026. During her years of international service, her ministry and leadership have taken her to more than 20 countries.

Her approach to missions extends beyond traditional outreach. Bishop Akers has emphasized leadership development, education, economic empowerment, youth development, strategic planning, financial stewardship, and sustainable approaches to ministry. Her work has helped connect international ministry with practical programs designed to strengthen individuals, churches, leaders, and communities.

Education and leadership development have been central to her life's work. Bishop Akers holds an earned Doctorate in Management and Organizational Leadership, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She has studied at Indiana Wesleyan University, the University of Phoenix, and Aenon Bible College. Her professional experience includes service as a university professor, business owner, financial strategist, administrator, and leadership consultant.

Her expertise includes organizational leadership, administration, strategic planning, budgeting and finance, ministry innovation, intervention strategies, and the development of programs that help individuals and organizations move toward greater stability and effectiveness.

Today, Bishop Kandy Akers brings this wealth of pastoral, academic, administrative, and international experience to her work connected with the Nayarit, Mexico District Council. Her leadership reflects a commitment to strengthening pastors and churches, developing leaders, reaching communities, empowering young people, and creating opportunities for sustainable growth.
