Bishop Phillip N. Johnson is an Apostolic pastor, teacher, author, missionary, and international ministry leader whose work has helped establish and expand the presence of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in Pakistan.

Through years of missionary service and relationship-building with pastors and Christian leaders throughout Pakistan, Bishop Johnson has helped guide the work from a developing mission territory into the Pakistan District Council, the 80th Episcopal Diocese of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.

His ministry reflects a commitment to both Apostolic evangelism and humanitarian service—preaching the Gospel while addressing practical needs within the communities being served.

Missionary Leadership in Pakistan

Beginning with the developing PAW mission work in Pakistan, Bishop Johnson has traveled extensively throughout the nation, ministering in cities, villages, churches, outdoor crusades, leadership conferences, and communities with limited resources.

Under this growing missionary effort, hundreds have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, believers have reported receiving the Holy Ghost, pastors and churches have entered into Apostolic fellowship, and regional leadership structures have been developed to strengthen the PAW's long-term presence throughout Pakistan.

The mission has expanded beyond evangelistic services to include pastoral development, leadership training, humanitarian outreach, and the establishment of sustainable ministry infrastructure.

Evangelism With Compassion

Bishop Johnson's approach to missions combines the proclamation of the Gospel with compassionate ministry to the physical and social needs of communities.

The Pakistan mission has developed and supported initiatives in four major areas:

Education — Providing educational opportunities for underserved Christian children through the ALC Education Center.

Healthcare — Supporting mobile medical missions that provide medical examinations, treatment, and medicines to underserved communities.

Clean Water — Developing water-well projects that provide communities with access to safe drinking water.

Justice and Advocacy — Supporting legal assistance for vulnerable Christians and families facing religious persecution and legal challenges.

These ministries demonstrate a philosophy of missions that seeks not only to preach within a community, but also to leave that community stronger.

Building Apostolic Infrastructure

A significant part of Bishop Johnson's work has been identifying, developing, and empowering indigenous leadership.

As Diocesan Bishop, he has established a leadership structure for the Pakistan District Council that includes regional Suffragan Bishops and Vice Chairmen along with executive officers representing different areas of the country.

This structure is designed to strengthen accountability, pastoral fellowship, leadership development, evangelism, and continued expansion of the Apostolic message throughout Pakistan.

A Record of Mission Impact

According to the PAW in Pakistan mission reports, since February 2023 the work has included multiple international mission journeys and ministry throughout numerous regions of Pakistan.

The documented ministry impact includes hundreds of baptisms in Jesus' name, believers receiving the Holy Ghost, dozens of services and crusades, thousands receiving medical care, children receiving educational support, and numerous clean-water wells being installed in underserved communities.

The February 2026 mission alone reported 69 people baptized in Jesus' name and 68 receiving the Holy Ghost during ten days of ministry, along with water-well projects, medical outreach, pastoral conferences, village ministry, and continued expansion of PAW fellowship.

Pastor, Teacher and Author

In addition to his missionary leadership, Bishop Johnson is an author and Bible teacher. He is the author of “He Taught Them: An Apostolic Exegesis of the Sermon on the Mount,” a work presenting Christ's teachings through an Apostolic perspective.

His ministry emphasizes biblical doctrine, leadership development, evangelism, compassion, and the responsibility of the Church to carry the Gospel beyond geographical and cultural boundaries.

Bishop Phillip N. Johnson represents a model of missions that moves beyond occasional international travel toward establishing lasting Apostolic infrastructure.

His work in Pakistan demonstrates a commitment to winning souls, developing indigenous leaders, strengthening churches, meeting humanitarian needs, and creating sustainable ministry capable of continuing from generation to generation.
