Bishop James P. Miller is a pastor, international missionary, educator, military veteran, and community leader whose ministry reflects a commitment to evangelism, leadership development, and compassionate service.

Before his episcopal assignment in Panama, Bishop Miller served as a member of the PAW International Missions Department Board of Directors, where he participated in the global missions work of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. His ministry background also includes pastoral leadership, education, community development, and international missions.

Bishop Miller's preparation for international ministry is extensive. His educational background includes studies in public information, human resource management, communication, and pastoral care. He also served in the United States Air Force, an experience that contributed to his development as an organizational and servant leader.

His international ministry has included work in Central America, including Panama, where his years of service and relationship-building have helped prepare the way for his present episcopal leadership.

The Work in Panama — Ministry That Changes Lives

Under Bishop Miller's leadership, the work in Panama is entering an exciting season of spiritual and organizational development. The vision extends beyond holding services—it is focused on strengthening people, developing churches, empowering young people, supporting pastors, and building ministry that can serve communities for generations.

At the center of the mission remains soul winning. Evangelistic ministry continues throughout Panama, with individuals being baptized, believers receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and people being connected with local Apostolic congregations where they can continue growing in their faith.

Investing in the Next Generation

A significant area of development is youth ministry.

New programs are being developed to reach children and young people spiritually, educationally, and socially. The objective is to create environments where young people can discover their God-given potential while receiving Christian instruction, mentorship, encouragement, and practical support.

This investment recognizes a fundamental principle of sustainable missions: when we invest in children today, we are developing the Church's leaders of tomorrow.

Building Lunchrooms — Meeting Practical Needs

The Panama mission is also addressing the practical needs of children and communities through the development and construction of lunchrooms and feeding facilities.

These facilities provide more than a place to eat. They create safe environments where children can receive meals, fellowship, encouragement, and ministry.

This is missions that reaches both the spiritual and natural needs of people—demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ not only through what we preach, but through how we serve.

Adding Pastors and Strengthening Churches

Another important area of growth is the continued addition and development of pastors and ministry leaders.

As the work expands, strong pastoral leadership becomes essential. Bishop Miller is helping strengthen the organizational foundation of the Panama District Council by connecting pastors, developing leaders, strengthening congregations, and encouraging greater cooperation throughout the district.

The goal is not simply to build individual churches, but to establish a strong Apostolic network throughout Panama capable of evangelizing communities, discipling believers, developing future ministers, and establishing new works.

Leadership for Change

A defining component of Bishop Miller's vision is Leadership for Change—developing leaders who can positively influence their churches and communities.

Sustainable missions requires indigenous leadership. Therefore, pastors, ministers, young adults, and emerging leaders must be equipped not simply to participate in ministry but eventually to lead it.

Through mentoring, teaching, leadership development, and practical ministry experience, the work in Panama is preparing individuals to accept greater responsibility for evangelism, church development, youth ministry, community outreach, and future expansion.
